Our Story
The Beginning of the Project: A Core Game: Re-Discovered
On the official Solaris Development Discord server, a user named Syrex (now known as Azure) created a post in the #dev-forums channel announcing the development of a remake of A Core Game 0.6.
At that time, Syrex was the only developer, a beginner in game development who was just starting his journey in the field. Over time, he significantly improved his skills and began developing the project more confidently, striving to capture the spirit of the original version.
After a while, a former Solaris moderator Lemurzast took interest in the project. Soon, more and more users began showing enthusiasm, leaving feedback and offering help with development. Eventually, Syrex decided to assemble a small team and invited Vedoroc, Dredge, and Lemurzast to join.
The team actively began development, maintaining the classic ACG 0.6 style while introducing new ideas and improvements. Later, another member Zerotsuza joined the project, making the workflow even more dynamic and coordinated.
The First Play-Test of A Core Game: Re-Discovered
At this stage, the team prepared the first playable build of the project. It included:
- various locations from the original version 0.6,
- new in-game events and interactions,
- although it suffered from poor optimization due to heavy scripting.
Initially, the game was not ready for public testing, but the team could not resist and decided to open the first Play-Test for everyone. The results exceeded expectations: during a single session, the project gathered around 100–200 visits, which was a huge success for such a small team. This wave of interest motivated the developers to continue working and releasing updates even more actively.
(Later, other test sessions were held for new updates, but they were not as significant to the project’s history.)
The New Version (Project Reboot)
After some time, a new member AwakeApple joined the team. Following his arrival, the team made an important decision to restart the project from scratch, as the previous version of A Core Game: Re-Discovered was overly unoptimized and full of coding issues.
Starting fresh, the team took inspiration from the original 0.6 version, aiming not only to recreate it but to capture the atmosphere of the final Play-Test of the original A Core Game 0.6. The remake gradually became more detailed, visually accurate, and faithful to the original.
Eventually, the creator of the original game Pio noticed the remake. She posted an announcement stating that there were too many A Core Game remakes, and if they were not closed within a certain period, all developers of those publicly available remakes would receive a ban.
Note: The warning applied only to remakes available for public access.
Following this announcement, the Syrex (Azure) team decided to take the project private to avoid any consequences.
Later Events and the End of Development
After the project’s closure, Syrex and Lemurzast continued to slowly work on A Core Game: Re-Discovered, developing new systems and improving existing features. However, over time, maintaining the project became increasingly difficult.
Gradually, their motivation faded, and development slowed down.
Eventually, Syrex decided to discontinue work on A Core Game: Re-Discovered and focus on a new path using Unreal Engine 5. A few months later, he began working on a new project titled "Hello Neighbor 2: Revival", and founded a new server and studio called Azure Studios.
As of now, the studio consists of two members Azure and Lemurzast. You can learn more about their work in the Projects section.
